This spring Braehead is in Bloom, with plenty of free fun for all the family.

Wander the centre and discover some wonderful works of art in our Paper Art Exhibition, pick up a booklet and learn more about the artists and the art on display.  You’ll love the 2m flower garden on the upper level near Goldsmiths.

Pick up a trail booklet and discover our hidden spring-inspired word and you could win a £50 gift card to a store of your choice in the centre. Scroll down to find out more and enter.

Spring Garden – Free fun 

Saturday 1 – Sunday 16 April 2023 | Daily 11am – 3pm *

Visit our Spring garden for a host of free daily activities, find the garden in the lower food mall between Costa Coffee and Yo! Children taking part in activities must be accompanied by a grown-up.

Meet our artist – Kate Colin

Glasgow-based artist Kate Colin will be holding free paper-folding master classes on the dates below.

Monday 3 April – Session times 11am | 12pm | 1pm | 2pm*
Friday 7 April – Session times 11am | 12pm | 1pm | 2pm*
Monday 10 April – Session times 11am | 12pm | 1pm | 2pm*
Friday 14 April – Session times 11am | 12pm | 1pm | 2pm*

*These classes are suited for ages 10+. Please note session times are subject to change, places are limited and allocated on a first-come first served basis. 

Kate Colin is a paper artist and designer based in Glasgow whose creative practice is based on the folded form. Her range of work includes lighting, installations, and wall art all of which are created using intricate scoring and paper folding techniques through which she explores how light, colour and geometry interact. 

Braehead in Bloom – Spring Trail Competition

To celebrate the arrival of the hottest new spring styles, Braehead Centre has been accessorised with floral blooms as part of our Paper Art Exhibition, running from Saturday 1 – Sunday 16 April 2023, and for every day that the exhibition is in the centre, we’re giving away a £50 Gift Card!

To enter, take a wander around the Paper Art Exhibition and track down the hidden letters on each mural, which come together to reveal a spring-inspired hidden word. Once you work it out fill in the competition entry form below  Correct entries will be added to a lucky draw to win one of sixteen £50 Gift Cards to spend at Braehead Centre in a store of the winner’s choosing. Braehead in Bloom – Share Your Snap Competition

Why not step into ‘Bloom’ – filled with giant flowers, measuring nearly 2 metres tall, which represent the beauty of petals bursting open after the first rains. Create your very own work of art in our activity garden and share it with friends and family on social media, tag @Braeheadcentre and if we share it, we’ll treat you to a £25 gift card to a store of your choice.
